4th - 6th April 2025
Weekend Immersive Workshop

Explore the legacy of Irving Penn: a three-day adventure in Coruña blending photography, culture, and creativity

  • An immersive workshop is more than a lesson; it’s a journey through art, culture, and self-expression, where the camera becomes your key to connect and explore.

This workshop embraces the art of being there—whether capturing still life as Penn did or meeting new places and people with intention. You’re not just learning photography; you’re living it, feeling every frame, every pulse of light, and breathing in every corner of inspiration.

  • The MOP
The "Irving Penn: Centennial" exhibition at the MOP Foundation brings the iconic work of Penn to life. Here, in Coruña’s creative heart, we’ll explore Penn’s world and let his legacy inspire our own. This isn’t just a visit; it’s a close encounter with a master’s vision.

    The Food
Galician gastronomy isn’t just food—it’s an experience that blends local flavors and soul. From seaside seafood to hidden taverns, our trip includes tastes that are as authentic and unforgettable as our photographic adventures.

The Quaint Town and the Beautiful People of Galicia
Coruña is a town of contrasts and charm, where age-old traditions meet the warmth of its people. Galicia’s landscapes and stories weave through this city, each corner waiting to be explored and captured. It’s the perfect setting for a shared journey and meaningful encounters.

FRAMING IRVING PENN / CORUÑA

JOIN US ON A WEEKEND WORKSHOP TO DISCOVER THE ART OF IRVING PENN.

From April 4th-6th, 2025, we’ll delve into Penn’s genius while exploring Coruña’s charm. This trip is crafted as an experience of enjoyment and observation, immersing ourselves in the masterful work of Penn. Lucía will lead a masterclass to deepen our understanding of his photography, followed by a visit to the exhibition and two hands-on photography sessions: a still-life shoot inspired by the works we study, and a unique portrait session using a large-format film camera, just as Penn did for many of his iconic portraits. This is more than a workshop; it’s an invitation to explore, capture, and connect. READY?

leica “DAS WESENTLICHE”

“Is the core of an object, a feeling, a situation. Its very essence, reduced to its purest form – the “soul”. Applied to design language, das Wesentliche means to eliminate all distractions and to concentrate on the essentials”.

The above is Leica’s brand claim, and it really resonates with how I understand photography.

Thanks to our collaboration with Leica, we will have the privilege of using their exquisite high-end cameras during this trip. As a participant, you'll have the opportunity to experiment with and master these beauties with the support of your guides/teachers.

Meet the Team

Curious photographer and designer, I love artichokes and am living in Cologne. My life revolves around creativity and image creation: as a photographer, enthusiastically sharing my knowledge with other photographers as an educator, and working as a designer and photo project editor and curator at Doublepage. Travel, both as a vital theme and in my photography, has led me to create Roadtrip, ETC.
